Sisterhood, stirring songs, and spectacular adventure. In the Kingdom of Arendelle, Anna and Elsa enjoy a sheltered royal life, as they prepare to one day inherit a throne that is rightfully theirs. But when Elsa's budding powers almost lead to tragedy, she's forced to bury her icy talents — until they erupt, unleashing an eternal winter that threatens to destroy everything she loves. Determined to save her home and her sister, Anna ventures into the treacherous storm, where she must reunite with Elsa if she ever hopes to thaw the cold hearts intent on keeping them apart. A story of sisterhood and embracing your true self, Disney's majestic musical riff on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen" is a thrilling theatrical event with stirring songs, spectacular adventure, and one magical snowman. Music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson Lopez and Robert Lopez, book by Jennifer Lee.

Archbold Theater, Syracuse Stage 820 E. Genesee St., Syracuse
An uplifting musical about open doors and open hearts. On September 11, 2001, 38 planes were diverted to Gander Airport after U.S. airspace was indefinitely closed, stranding 7,000 international travelers in Newfoundland and immediately doubling the population of a tiny, isolated island town. The townspeople quickly respond with heroic hospitality, inviting the beleaguered travelers into their bars, their homes, and their hearts. Set to rousing, rowdy, and rough-hewn folk songs, Come From Away is the Tony Award-winning true story of human decency, a triumphant and inspiring tribute to an unforgettable moment in history, and a one-of-a-kind musical that proves "no man is an island, but an island makes a man."

A comedy about books and the people who love them. For Ana Smith, Book Club is the one place she can truly be herself: Confident, organized, intellectual, and most importantly, in charge. She especially loves leading the stimulating conversations with her husband Rob, their best friends Will and Jen, and her protégé Lily, as they devour classics like The Age of Innocence and Moby Dick. But when Ana agrees to allow a famous director to record their meetings for a documentary film, the safe space of Book Club is shattered, while an opinionated newcomer threatens to alter the group dynamic for good. Karen Zacarías' delightful comedy celebrates the simple joy of reading — from Wuthering Heights to Twilight, and everything in between.

A wickedly funny coming-of-age story. A one-stoplight town in rural Georgia is the backdrop for the literary and emotional awakenings of a group of high school girls in Kimberly Belflower's wickedly funny and uncompromising theatrical rebuttal. It's 2018, and Mr. Carter leads his honors lit class in examining a classic American drama, with lessons sandwiched between state mandated sex-ed lectures and passionate discussions on the merits of pop music. But when the students start to question what they see as a problematic play, shocking revelations begin to surface that will have consequences far beyond the classroom. A twisty, modern revision of a canonical text, John Proctor is the Villain dares us to toss off our collective notion of "hero" ... and let it burn. Co-produced with the Syracuse University Department of Drama.

A love letter to Syracuse from the writer of Possessing Harriet. 1950s Syracuse: The Nationals represent the city in the fledgling NBA while the team's two African American players, among the first Black athletes to play professionally, navigate the sport's color barrier and new rules as they fight to leave their mark on the court and on the history of the game. Inspired by the true story of "The Nats" and their championship season, Kyle Bass's The Black Nationals is a fast-paced, imaginative new play that celebrates a defining moment of Central New York history at the dawn of the Civil Rights Movement and invites us to consider a world where, in the game of life, everyone has a fair shot.

World premiere of a new edge-of-your-seat musical thriller. Based on the harrowing novel by Lyndsay Faye, this new musical thriller pits literature's most famous detective against history's most notorious madman. London, 1888: The serial killer known as Jack the Ripper stalks the women of Whitechapel and leaves Scotland Yard chasing their tails. At 221B Baker Street, Doctor John Watson anxiously watches on while a dejected Sherlock Holmes, without mysteries to stimulate his uneasy mind, fends off boredom with his "seven percent solution." When the pair is pulled onto the Whitechapel case to investigate a promising lead, Holmes is reinvigorated, but discovering the truth of the Ripper will lead him down alleys darker and more sinister than anything he has previously encountered.
